Mark Guiliana is an American drummer and songwriter, born in New Jersey in 1980. A renowned instrumentalist, whether in jazz, rock or electronic, Guiliana has collaborated, recorded and played with Avishai Cohen, Brad Mehldau, David Bowie or Matisyahu , among others. He is one of the most influential drummers of his generation.

José Salgueiro
Transporte Colectivo

José Salgueiro is unanimously named as one of the best drummers of Portuguese jazz. He comes to SeixalJazz to present "Transporte Colectivo", name of his quintet and also his first recording as leader. An elegant and open jazz with visible influences of the many styles of music that the drummer has already explored.

Aaron Parks Trio

Pianist Aaron Parks has been at the forefront of exploring the boundaries of jazz, always challenging the limits of his own work, exploring new melodies, textures, and formations. He drew the attention of critics and audiences when he joined the lineup of veteran trumpeter Terence Blanchard.

Kuba Więcek Trio

The young saxophonist and composer Kuba Więcek was born in Rybnick, Poland, in 1994. Strongly influenced by Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and Ornette Coleman, Więcek's compositions are also marked by pop and rock sounds, notably the work of Brian Eno, Tom Waits, Bon Iver, Flying Lotus or Kanye West.

Roots Magic

Roots Magic is a Rome-based Italian quartet that explores a repertoire between avant garde blues and creative jazz, an American-inspired jazz heavily influenced by Julius Hemphill, John Carter and Sun Ra. Their music incorporates the black music tradition, the country blues of the 1920s, originally intended for voice and guitar, as well as a more creative and advanced jazz side.

João Hasselberg & Pedro Branco

João Hasselberg and Pedro Branco surprise in this joint project, exploring a universe formed by compositions of both. Two musicians born in jazz but with paths and works that also explore pop, rock and folk ambiances.

Rita Marcotulli & Andy Sheppard Quartet

The musician and composer Andy Sheppard is a reference among European saxophonists and one of the few British to achieve a major role in the international jazz scene. Collaborator of Carla Bley, he has already played with unforgettable names like Gil Evans and George Russell.

This concert replaces the performance of Carla Bley Trio, canceled due to health reasons of the pianist.

SeixalJazz Clube

Armazém 56 – Arte SX (Mundet)

At the end of the main stage concerts, jazz continues at the SeixalJazz Clube. Seven nights with Portuguese formations bring life to this newly renovated pavilion of the former cork factory Mundet.

Two brothers whose talent and virtuosity on the guitar earned a commendable note in this year’s March issue of «Down Beat» magazine. In 2018 they released their second album.

Desidério Lázaro Quarteto

Renowned saxophonist with a career that astablished him among the best Portuguese jazz musicians. Desidério Lázaro is accompanied by a range of excellent musicians.

Ricardo Pinto Quinteto

Compositions marked by the retro sounds of the 60s, with modern and improvised approaches. Cinematographic music with strong melodies.

André Rosinha Quinteto

André Rosinha leads a formation of excellent musicians with whom he recorded his most recent work, «Portico». Among them is the renowned accordionist João Barradas.
